Does Anyone Here With Vitiligo Also Have SLE?

A MyVitiligoTeam Member asked a question 💭
Rockford, MI

I stopped taking low dose steroid topical treatment last year and then had a completely unrelated surgery which helped me become pain free for that issue and stop taking ibuprofen- as a result my hands and feet hurt so bad and it has been suggested that I have SLE which has been masked because I had taken other meds for other things. Apparently it’s quite common to have 2 AI issues and not realize it?! I also am anemic, have fatigue and now an ulcer in my mouth- so it all makes sense. I have… read more

Do Most People With Vitiligo Have Hashimoto’s?

A MyVitiligoTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was just diagnosed with V last week after having the pigmentation problem for a probably 5 or so years. Earlier this year, I requested a full thyroid panel because I was experiencing hypothyroid-esque symptoms. The only thing to come back abnormal (and it was very mild) was my T3. It was low. Therefore, they diagnosed me with Euthyroid Sick Syndrome. I’ve been taking 10mcg of Cytomel and have since felt better
Fast forward to this last week. The Dermatologist (first one I’ve ever seen) tells… read more

Protopic 0.03% Vs 0.1%

A MyVitiligoTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello all
I’m a 35 yr old make based in Uk. I have recently developed vitiligo below both eyes
I saw a dermatologist who prescribed Protopic 0.03. I have only been using it for 5 days, so it’s too soon to see any results
However I have since discovered that a 0.1% version exists, and the 0.03% version is usually used for children
