What’s One Thing About Vitiligo That People Rarely Discuss But Should?
Being different is hard, people are mean and judgmental of what they see not what they know or understand. I agree there are sooo many worse off then myself. In that aspect I am grateful. I’m soon to be 51, life goes by too fast. Reach inside LOVE yourself! Those whom know you will not see your white spots.
The "silver lining" for me with Vitiligo is. I do think that it is not as bad as other autoimmune diseases, so I guess that is a silver lining. This is a disease that does not cause physical pain or even death, like some illnesses do. And we can cover it up and it would be like there is nothing there, if we wanted too. So these are some silver linings for me.
Also, I am not sure how the body response are the initial pigmentation disappearance. I do know that with me it appeared that I developed other autoimmune diseases and the pigmentation disappearance has been progressive in some areas and in some it has returned.
One question I have Is what happens after the initial pigmentation disappearance, does something ELSE in the body begin to be targeted or does it ATEASE!! 🤔
What (if any) has been a "silver lining" on this cloud called my vitiligo...what are some good things that have happened in my life that I can probably attribute to vitiligo...how has vitiligo made my life richer, more insightful and meaningful?
It's just a question that may not come up very often but I find a little provocative and makes me think. My answers are true for me, and they make me grateful and challenge my assumptions that vitiligo is all bad.
