How do you deal with people asking you about your vitiligo.
What do you say when little kids ask? I get embarrassed and parents just say they are just curious… I know everyone can see it, but maybe I don’t want to talk about it..🤷🏽‍♀️ I just want to be a normal person.

Well Jacque, I'm actually a secondary school teacher, so I have kids question me on it all the time! I'm quite confident in other areas of my life, so will tell them it's a skin condition where some of my skin loses it's colour. Lots of children are fascinated and things it's cool! It boosts my self confidence no end!!

FrancesaGrace hello! To answer your question; there must be a board-certified dermatologist is to diagnose vitiligo because they required to have training in diagnosing and treating skin conditions. A dermatologist can diagnose vitiligo by examining your skin, reviewing your medical history, and possibly using a Wood's lamp to see areas of vitiligo more clearly.
The benefits from being under medical care of a licensed dermatologist would be prescribed medicines or medicated skin creams, such as corticosteroids or a calcineurin inhibitor, which may be able to return color to the white patches of skin. Use of light (phototherapy) to help return color to the skin. There are several different forms of light therapy.
