Is It Even Worth Using All These Creams And Medicines To Try And Stop The Spread Of Vitiligo?
I used a cream called Protopic 0,1%
For the first 3 months it removed a spot on my neck. After a while it stopped working and the spread of my vitiligo started to increase.
I also was recommended to take vitamin D tablets (1000 ICU) and Zinc. I have found that the spread is not reversing or slowing down. Seeing that there actually isn't really a cure, I have come to a point where I have stopped using the creams.
Honestly they don't have a cure for vitiligo . I used cream, vitamins, natural foods & other products nothing work so I stop. These Dr's don't have a clue and will not keep making money off of me I refuse too be a ginniepig so now I don't use anything. I'm alive & well that's good enough for me.
I too have found that nothing works I've learned to deal with it in every spot that I have received begins as a heart and I still have many that look like hearts. I think it's a kiss from God and to show that he loves me no matter what and that these spots don't change who I am. The just make me the unique person that He made me to be. And true love will only be found when I am accepted for just being me; spots and all... And I would say that I'm about 60% covered in white spots on my olive skin.
Something I have read and experienced is that if your hair is depigmented (white) on your vitiligo spots, no cream (including Opzelura) or UVB treatment will work. Hair pigmentation seems to be the key in treatment success. My best advice is to color it...I use Zanderm.
I’m still using Protopic 0.1%(4 months now ) and also phototherapy(2 months now). I’ve noticed that some areas are re pigmenting and on some parts vitiligo is still spreading , I feel defeated but I’ll try for a few more months with hopes that some parts will regain pigment .
